Turkey Shepard’s Pie

I fried up a pack of ground turkey with a tsp or so of olive oil, added 1/2 a finely diced white onion, 1 tsp garlic powder and 1-2 tsp seasoning salt. Then added 2 sticks of chopped celery, and 1c of frozen mixed veg (carrots, peas, corn- sometimes I use fresh, but it's too easy when I have this frozen mix on hand). Then I let that all cook and add in a tsp of herbs (an Italian blend usually) and a tsp of Montreal steak spice. Then I mix seperately 1/2 c chicken stock and 1/4c cornstarch and add this to the turkey mixture. Stir, and pour it into an oven safe dish.

Boil 4 medium/ large white potatoes and 1 yam, boil until super tender. Mash (or I "mash" by putting them in my mixer) with 2 tbsp of the potato water they're boiled in, 1/4c butter and 1 tsp garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Spread the potato/ yam smash over your meat and then either put in the oven or place in the fridge to reheat later! I like to reheat at 350 for 25 mins or until the middle is hot!
