Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
I grew up despising Brussels Sprouts because they were often boiled and just, well not appealing that way. But as an adult I LOVE them roasted, they get crispy and tender and just delicious. And recently my fav and fastest way to do them is in the air fryer! This “recipe” can really accommodate as many or as little brussels as you want to cook. I find myself batching these and keeping them on hand to throw on top of a salad or have for breaky with eggs and mushrooms and avocado.
Start by slicing the bottom dry bit off your sprouts (don’t do the X thing, don’t soak them for hours on end, save yourself some time and be reasonable) and then slice each sprout in half or thirds (if they’re big) lengthwise.
Toss your sliced sprouts in a bowl and add 1-2 tbsp avocado oil, salt and pepper to taste, and then put them on a piece of parchment in your air fryer. These are going to turn out best if you just do them one layer, but you could have them stacked a little to do more. Cook at 400 deg in the air fryer fro 7-8 mins, flip them or toss them a little then cook for another 7-8 mins. This should leave them crisp and cooked and so so good. Once they’re ready, take them out and put them BACK into the bowl you used earlier to toss with the oil. Add 2-3 tbsp of Balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle with either 2 tbsp of parmesan or 1-2 tbsp of nutritional yeast (if dairy free).
ENJOY as a side dish with fish or steak, or on a salad, or with eggs for breaky, the possibilities are endless!
